7.4. Printer Settings

You can use any number of printers with Ritapos at the same time. Before starting, make sure your printer is connected to your computer, powered on, and has its driver installed.

Ritapos does not provide hardware support. If you have problems with tasks such as driver installation, ask the company that supplied your hardware (caller ID device, printer, or similar device) or your nearest computer repair shop for help.

Printing Preferences

You can configure your printer settings and business-specific preferences for printed receipts on these pages.

There are two ways to use a printer.

Printing from the Browser

The first option is generally used by small businesses with one printer and requires no configuration. Like applications such as Yemeksepeti and Getir, it uses the browser's print window. When you select "Print" or "Print Pending Products" in the application, the browser's print window opens. Select the printer, adjust the relevant settings, and select "Print" to print your bill and pending products.

Printing from the browser is not recommended because it starts a new process for every print request.

Businesses with multiple production units and printers in those areas, as well as devices such as mobile phones that are not directly connected to a printer, use silent printing. The computer where your printers are configured automatically becomes the computer that manages the printers. To enable this, install the printer connection software for your operating system on that computer. You can find the installer on the Printer Settings page under Business Settings in the menu.

Installing the Connection Application

Use the "Installer for Windows" or "Installer for Mac" link in the card on the left side of the page to download the connection application for your operating system.

During installation, you may see a warning that an application named "Java" must be installed. In that case, the installer directs you to the page where you can obtain it. After installing Java, continue installing the connection application. If you see a certificate warning near the end of the connection application installation, follow the requested steps to complete the installation.

After installation, select "Connect" in Ritapos and confirm that the red status icon turns green.

Defining a Printer

Select "List" in the upper-right corner of the card in the center of the page to create a direct connection between Ritapos and your printers. Then use the button on each printer row to name your printers "Printer 1," "Printer 2," and so on.

"Printer 1" should be the printer at your register that you use to print bills.

You can also select the relevant printers in product categories to plan product tickets for areas such as the oven or bar.

Printing from a Mobile Phone

To print from a mobile phone or another device such as a handheld terminal, enable "Allow other devices to print through the host computer" in the left panel. You can print from any device whenever Ritapos is open on the host computer.

Devices other than the host computer, such as mobile phones, do not need to know which printers are available.
