7.4.1. About the Ritapos Printer Application
7.4.1.1. Known Issues
Old Java Versions: Because the Ritapos Printer application installs with its own Java version, you are not expected to encounter a Java-related problem. However, conflicts may occur because of other printer applications or old versions of QZ Tray and Ritapos Printer. In this case, we recommend removing these applications and Java versions from your computer.
The Ritapos Printer 2.2.2 installer includes the required Java application and installs it automatically. If you use version 2.2.2, you do not need to install Java separately.
Antivirus Software: Comodo Antivirus interferes with installation and prevents the application from being installed, removed, or run. Disabling Comodo has little effect because it re-enables itself without warning.
Application Restrictions: If your antivirus enforces application restrictions, disable the restriction for the Ritapos Printer application and the Java version it uses.
Web Filtering: If it blocks access to local ports or local host certificates, disable the filter or add https://localhost:8181 and http://localhost:8182 to the allowlist.
Temporary File Access: If it blocks access to the temporary directory, disable the restriction or add the Ritapos Printer application to the allowlist.
7.4.1.2. Installation Issues
There are several possible reasons for the "Sorry, this version cannot be installed on this system" error.
- Ritapos Printer versions later than 2.2.2 support 64-bit Intel and 64-bit ARM/Apple Silicon. Make sure you use the version that matches your system. Ritapos Printer 2.1.6 runs on some 32-bit systems.
- On Windows computers, usernames with special characters such as ! cause an error. Changing Lenovo! to Lenovo will resolve the problem.
7.4.1.3. Issues After Installation
An incorrect Java installation is a common problem. If you receive a "Creating keystore for ws://localhost..." or "java -version" error, reinstall Java. If you use Ritapos Printer 2.2.2, remove Java and the Ritapos Printer application from your computer, then reinstall them to resolve the problem.
If you receive a JavaFX error, download JavaFX from the internet and reinstall it.
Having both 64-bit and 32-bit Java installed at the same time is a common issue on Windows computers. Remove Java and install the version that matches your system architecture.
7.4.1.3. Other Errors
- "Process finished with exit code 2" in the browser console: Another printer application is running. Close the other applications so that only one remains open.
- "Error: SCRIPT1010: Expected identifier" in the browser console: This may appear in Internet Explorer 11. Use the latest version of Google Chrome.
- "Error: Server returned HTTP response code: 403 for URL" in the browser console: The browser is not sending the required information to Ritapos. Use the latest version of Google Chrome.
