6.1. Taking a New Order

There are several ways to take a new order. These include taking a direct order, taking an order for a table, and taking an order for a customer. No matter how you take the order, you can assign or change its table and customer later.

This flow runs on our cloud order check software; the product page summarizes the path from order to payment.

To take an order quickly, press "+ Sipariş" (new order) at the top left of the page.

When this button is pressed, the product groups and products defined in the system appear in a window. These items come from your product definitions. Adding product groups is covered in 4.1. Adding and Editing Product Groups and adding products in 4.2. Adding and Editing Products.

Add the ordered quantity by clicking the relevant product box as many times as needed. Below each selected product, you can see how many units have been added to the order, for example "Sepette 1 adet" (1 in cart).

As products are added, colored indicators in the upper-left corner of the order entry screen show the number of products in the order. These dash-shaped indicators appear in different colors based on each product's preparation status within the order.

The contents of the new order appear on the right on large-screen devices and at the bottom of the window on small devices such as mobile phones.

The order number appears at the top of the order contents section. The order number increases one by one from the time your business opens that day. Directly below it are the name of the person who took the order and the date when the order was added to the system. Below that is information about the person who performed the last action. When you assign a customer or table to the order, that information also appears here. Attaching a customer to an order is covered in 6.9. Closing an Order Without Payment.

Below the upper section containing various details about the order, the middle section displays the products in the order as a table. The "+" and "-" buttons on the left side of the table increase or decrease the quantity of the relevant product in the order. The order buttons are in the middle of the screen: "Kişi" (guests), "Masa" (table), "Müşteri" (customer), "Etiket" (label), "Not" (note), "Kampanyalar" (campaigns), "İndirim" (discount), "Bahşiş" (tip) and "İşlemler" (actions).

The left column has "Bekleyenleri yazdır" (print pending), "Yazdır" (print) and "Etiket" (label) buttons, followed by the payment types: "Kredi kartı" (credit card), "Nakit" (cash), "Parçalı" (split) and "Ödeme yok" (no payment). To close the order, use the green "<amount> Kapat" (close) button at the bottom. Next to it is the "Ritapay" button. You can edit the payment types in the business settings.

The top right has the "+ Sipariş" and "Müşteri ekranı" (customer display) buttons. Use "+ Sipariş" to open a new order. To delete or cancel an order, use "İptal" in the "İşlemler" panel. These options are covered in 6.12. Waste Operations and Waste and Discount Reports.

Adding an item with variants

Items that come in sizes such as small and large can have variants. How variants are defined is covered in 4.3. Defining Variants and Add-on Groups.

1. On the order entry screen, open the product group that contains the item. An item with variants shows Varyantlar (variants) on its tile.
2. Tap the item. The Varyantlar dialog opens and lists the variants with their prices, for example "Filtre Kahve Küçük 90,00₺" and "Filtre Kahve Büyük 110,00₺" (sample data).
3. Tap the variant you want. Each variant you choose becomes its own line in the order.
4. Close the dialog with Kapat (close).

If the tile does not show Varyantlar, no variants are linked to the item. Variants are added on the Varyantlar tab of the main item's Opsiyonlar (options) panel.

Choosing a product option

If a product option (for example a milk choice) is linked to an item, its choices are offered when you add the item to the order. For an item with variants, the option must be linked to the variant you choose.

1. In the Varyantlar dialog, tap the variant, for example "Filtre Kahve Büyük".
2. The Ürün opsiyonları (product options) dialog opens. Tap the choice you want, for example "Laktozsuz süt 10,00₺" (lactose-free milk) or "Badem sütü 15,00₺" (almond milk).
3. The dialog stays open, so you can add another choice. When you are done, press Kapat.

The option you choose appears in grey italics under the item name. Its price is added to the line price. For example, Filtre Kahve Büyük at 110,00₺ becomes 1 × 120,00₺ with Laktozsuz süt.

When items are shown grouped, lines of the same item are merged. For example, two Filtre Kahve Büyük with different options may show as one line, "2 × 115,00₺". To see which item has which option, we recommend showing items line by line. You can change the view with the view button in the line's ⋮ menu.

Preparing a product option

1. Open Ürünler > Ürün opsiyonları (products, product options) from the menu and press +. The Yeni ürün opsiyonu (new product option) form opens, with the Notlar (notes), Modifiyeler (modifiers) and Ek ürünler (extra items) tabs.
2. For choices that change the price, use the Modifiyeler tab. On each row enter Not (for example Laktozsuz süt), Sayısal (numeric) as Tip (type) and Fiyat (price, for example 10). Give the option a name (for example Süt seçimi) and save it.
3. Link the option to each variant item separately. On Ürünler > Ürün listesi (product list), press Opsiyonlar on the variant item (for example Filtre Kahve Büyük). On the Ürün opsiyonu tab, choose the option from the Ürün opsiyonunu seçin (select a product option) list and press Kaydet (save). The "Tamamlandı" (completed) message appears.

Linking the option only to the main item (for example Filtre Kahve) is not enough: the option dialog does not open for variant lines. See 4.3 for details.

Adding a note to an item

You can write a note on an item in the order to pass information to the kitchen or bar.

1. In the order contents, press ⋮ on the item's line. A menu titled "<quantity> x <item>" opens. It has Not (note), Miktar (quantity), Fiyat (price), a view button, Ücretsiz (free), İkram (complimentary) and Zayi (waste).
2. Press Not. A separate note field opens for each unit of the item, so two units of the same item can have different notes.
3. Type your note in the "Not yazın" (write a note) field. To start a new line, press Shift and Enter together. The field also has İşlemler and microphone buttons.
4. Press Kaydet (save). A "Tamamlandı" (completed) dialog shows "İşleminiz başarıyla tamamlanmıştır." (your action was completed successfully).

The saved note appears in italics under the item name in the order contents.

You can define the notes you use often in advance. See 4.6. Product Notes.

The Ücretsiz, İkram and Zayi buttons in the same menu do more than write a note: they set the item price to 0. They only work when items are shown line by line. See 6.12. Waste Operations and Waste and Discount Reports. Discounting a single item with Fiyat is covered in 6.5. Order Actions.
