Employee Orientation Record Form

Complete it during the first shifts as training progresses. Saying that something was shown is not a record. A button forgotten three days later shows that orientation was incomplete. You do not have to finish the form in one session. Most orientation takes place over several shifts.

Basic sign-in and hygiene can be completed on the first day. Till and delivery preparation can wait until the second day. Record any incomplete item. Do not leave the employee alone until every item is complete. The Academy lesson shows which button to press. This paper records that the lesson was explained in your venue.

If an item is still open in the second week, do not leave the employee alone in that task. An open item means a button has not been explained. Link the training to the Academy lesson, but do not mark watched until it has been practised in the venue. Keeping the form in the employee file behind the document checklist also shows a new manager where to begin.

How to use this form

  1. Write the employee's name, start date, and trainer. Without the trainer's name, nobody knows whom to ask three days later.
  2. After explaining each item, the trainer marks it together with the employee. A one-sided mark does not count as training.
  3. The employee must sign in to Ritapos with their own account. A tablet left signed in to the owner's account is not a training tool.
  4. Split hygiene, till, and kitchen items across separate days. Record the day on which each item was explained.
  5. Schedule an incomplete item for the next shift. Do not leave the employee alone at the till or in the kitchen while a row remains open.
  6. The form is not complete without both signatures. Put it in the employee file beside the document checklist.

How this maps to Ritapos

Academy lessons show which button to press. This paper records that the lesson was explained in your venue. Assign the user role for the job. Do not give till permissions to a kitchen account.

The account is created after the document checklist is complete. Orientation records how the account is used. They are separate forms. Training with a shared account records transactions under the trainer's name and creates no trail for the new employee. Links to the relevant lessons appear at the bottom of the page.

This form is a checklist for training purposes. It does not change your municipal, food registration, or occupational health obligations. Confirm local requirements in writing.
