Cash Register Integration: How to Use a Fiscal POS
Using a cash register POS starts in Ritapos: the order is opened there and the amount travels to the device through the integration. This guide brings together cash register integration, GMP3/TSM and the steps you follow every day.
What is cash register POS integration?
Cash register integration means the amount of an order opened in Ritapos goes automatically to the fiscal payment recorder (the yazar kasa POS, Turkey's fiscal cash register terminal), and the payment is recorded in line with the processes of GİB (Turkish Revenue Administration). Without POS integration the cashier keys in the amount by hand, and the guest check and the fiscal receipt often don't match. Devices such as Inpos, Ingenico, Pavo, PAX and Paycell can work integrated with Ritapos. For the device menus you use every day, see the Inpos M530 user guide, Inpos X and Z reports and the PAX A910SF user guide.
How do you use a cash register POS? (integrated flow)
Whether you ask how to use a cash register POS or how a cash register POS works with your software, the answer comes down to the order in which the software and the device do their part in the daily routine:
- Create the table or till order in Ritapos.
- On the payment screen, send the amount to the device with "Send to register" (the name varies by brand).
- Let the guest complete the card or cash payment on the device.
- Once the fiscal receipt is issued, close the order in Ritapos, or turn on automatic closing.
- At the end of the day, take the X/Z report, or the brand's equivalent, from the device.
For the hardware side step by step, see the guide on how to use a POS device.
GMP3 and TSM: wired and wireless integration
There are generally two methods: GMP3 (wired) and TSM (wireless). GMP3 stops the payment application from processing a transaction unless it passes through the secure module defined by GİB. TSM is the terminal's remotely managed security layer and is common in mobile setups. Ritapos supports both types with Inpos, Ingenico, PAX, Pavo and Paycell, and the first TSM setup is free on the Ritapos side.
For a comparison of brands and connections, see cash register POS integration systems.
Setting up cash register integration
Setting up cash register integration varies by device brand. In Ritapos you choose the integration type in the store settings, and the device must be ready on the network or over USB. For Inpos there is an Academy lesson, and for PAX the blog has articles on static IP. Ritapos users do not pay Ritapos a monthly integration license: the first device setup is free, and a one-off setup fee may apply to further devices. The device companies' own annual licenses need to be tracked separately.
Manual payment closing and audits
Legally, taking payments outside the integration is risky. In Ritapos, under Settings > Store > Payment > POS, the "Disable manual payment" option for credit card and cash forces the till to use only the integrated route. In reports, the "Payment provider" column shows whether the integration was used; if the device brand does not appear on a cash or card line, the order may have been closed without the integration.
Which device should you choose?
In our field experience, Inpos is the brand we recommend most often for integration and service speed. If your current device is supported, there is no need to replace it. For the store and brand list, see Ingenico integrated POS and pricing.
Ritapos users pay Ritapos no monthly or annual license for GMP3 and TSM integrations. The first device setup is free, and a one-off setup fee is charged for each device after that.
Every company apart from Paycell and PAVO sells annual license packages for this integration. When you buy one, set reminders so you don't forget the end date. Once the license expires, your POS screen may show a message such as "license expired" without telling you which license has run out, and you can be left without the integration.
It is worth stressing that you still pay an amount close to the integration license fee in another form: within the commission rate with Paycell, and as the GMÖ fee with PAVO. In practice, every company charges for this service, just in different ways.
Your POS device company is the best source for exact package prices. At Ritapos we recommend Inpos devices. Inpos POS devices are quick and easy to use during transactions, and much simpler during integration.
To set this up, sign in with the Owner account,
open Settings, Store settings, Payment settings, POS preferences
and turn on "Disable manual payment" for credit card and cash. Once manual payment is disabled, staff can no longer choose "Credit card" or "Cash" inside Ritapos. If you also turn on the option underneath, "Disable manual payments for added payment methods", options such as Multinet and Sodexo can't be selected either.
Turn on "Auto-close POS payments" so that orders you have been paid for close automatically in Ritapos.
Ritapos shows this information in the "Payment provider" column inside the "Order" cards of its reports. In that column you will notice both "Ingenico" and "User". The table shows Cash, Credit card and On account (cari) payments taken through "Ingenico", while orders from platforms such as Migros, Trendyol and Yemeksepeti are closed as "User" because the payment was taken online.
If you can't see the brand of your fiscal payment recorder next to "Cash" and "Credit card", the order was taken without using the integration.
New-generation cash registers (YN ÖKC) and integration
New-generation fiscal payment recorders (YN ÖKC) combine card payment and the fiscal record in one flow. Cash register POS integration passes the check lines from the restaurant software to this device as an amount, so the items on the receipt match the order taken on the floor. Without integration the cashier types the amount on the keypad, and at peak times the risk of slipped figures and audit findings goes up.
Choosing GMP3 or TSM for your floor layout
If the computer and the device sit side by side at a fixed till, a wired GMP3 connection is usually the most stable option. If the waiter takes payment at the table or the device is mobile, the wireless TSM layer comes into play. The same brand may support both methods, and some businesses run a mixed setup with GMP3 at the till and TSM for the waiters. When you choose, weigh power cuts, Wi-Fi coverage and service speed together.
| Scenario | Recommended connection | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Fixed till | GMP3 | Cabling and USB/Ethernet |
| Payment at the table | TSM | Battery charge and network |
| Delivery counter | GMP3 or fast TSM | Queue time |
Pre-setup checklist
- Confirm that the ÖKC is active and registered with GİB processes.
- Make sure the VAT classes and prices in the Ritapos menu are up to date.
- Check with the device company that the integration license or module is enabled.
- Network: plan a static IP or a DHCP reservation if needed.
- Issue a low-value receipt for a test order and check that the order closes in Ritapos.
- Write down the "send, pay, close" flow for your staff.
Setup steps vary by brand. For Inpos you can follow the Academy lesson, and for network settings the PAX static IP articles on the blog.
ÖKC and the bank terminal: what happens during integration?
When the guest presents their card, the bank approval runs inside the device. Ritapos does not change that approval; it only sends the correct starting amount. Refunds and voids must be done consistently in both the software and the device, because a half-finished void splits the fiscal record from the check on the floor. For cash payments too, having the amount come from the software brings the cash count and the Z report closer together.
Integration license and cost items
On the Ritapos side no monthly software license is paid for GMP3/TSM integration; the first device setup is free, and a one-off setup fee may apply to extra devices. The device maker's annual integration package, commission or maintenance fee should be tracked separately. As the license end date approaches, a warning appears on the device screen. If the integration stops while manual payment is disabled, the queue at the till grows, so setting a calendar reminder counts as an operational must.
Split payments and platform orders
When a table splits the bill, Ritapos sends it to the device part by part. On food platforms the payment is usually taken on the platform, so the order closes in Ritapos as "User" or with the platform's payment method. That is normal, and the ÖKC receipt is not issued the same way on every channel. Explaining to the team which channel uses which type of close makes the reports easier to read.
Audits and record integrity
Disabling manual payment blocks payments taken outside the integration. The "Payment provider" report column shows whether a receipt was closed from the device or by hand. Before an audit, match one day's order list against the Z report; if there are gaps in the process, this usually shows a training need first.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is cash register integration?
Cash register integration is the connection that passes an order taken in Ritapos to the fiscal payment recorder and makes sure the payment information reaches GİB (Turkish Revenue Administration) correctly. Because the cashier doesn't key in the amount by hand, the receipt and the guest check show the same figure.
What is the difference between GMP3 and TSM?
GMP3 is a wired connection, and a payment cannot complete without passing through the secure module defined by GİB. TSM works wirelessly and manages the device's security configuration remotely from a central point. You pick one to suit the cabling in your dining room, and some devices let you use both.
Do I pay Ritapos a separate license for the integration?
No. You pay Ritapos no monthly or annual license for GMP3 and TSM integrations. The first device setup is free, and a one-off setup fee is charged for each device after that. The device brand's own license or commission fee is separate.
Can I block payments taken outside the integration?
Yes. With the Owner account, go to Settings, Store settings, Payment settings, POS preferences and disable manual payment. Staff then can't select cash or credit card by hand at the till, and in an emergency you can turn manual payment back on yourself.
Will my current device work with the integration?
If the brand and model are on the supported list, usually yes. For the list, see the cash register integrations page; if your device isn't supported, the first step is planning a hardware upgrade.
What should I do if the integration drops?
Check the network connection, the device license and the Ritapos integration setting, in that order. As a temporary fix, manual payment should be switched on only by an authorized person and with a record kept; the permanent fix is a service visit or pairing the device again.
How does e-adisyon relate to cash register integration?
E-adisyon (Turkey's electronic guest check) is the service document, while cash register integration is the payment and fiscal receipt layer. In businesses that are subject to it, the two run together and neither replaces the other. For details, see the e-adisyon guide.
