Digital Menu Board:
Your menu on screen, you're in control
Ritapos Menu Board puts your menu on a TV in your venue. It works with Ritapos or on its own, and it runs on every TV that uses the Android operating system and on every Samsung TV. For pricing, write to us on the contact page.
What is a digital menu board?
A digital menu board is a system for restaurants and cafes that displays the menu on a TV. It takes the place of the printed one. Item names, images and prices appear on it. You may also see it called a digital menu display or a TV menu board.
Guests can look over the options before they order, and a person waiting at the till sees them on the TV. When something changes, there is no printed copy to redo.
Use Ritapos Menu Board with Ritapos or on its own
You don't need Ritapos for this. It works in two ways: integrated with Ritapos, or on its own.
Integrated with Ritapos
If you use Ritapos for your till and orders, you can run it integrated. In Ritapos you enter product, price, translation and allergen details once. The till and the QR menu show the same record, and you manage these records in Menu Manager.
When the menu or a price changes in Ritapos, the TV updates live.
On its own (standalone)
Don't use Ritapos? You can run it by itself. You don't need Ritapos POS, and you don't have to replace your current till software. In standalone mode it has its own management interface.
Which TVs does Menu Board run on?
It runs on every TV that uses the Android operating system and on every Samsung TV. There is no minimum version. If your TV runs Android or is a Samsung, you can use it. Not sure about your model? Write to us on the contact page.
How do you set up Menu Board?
You can use it as an app or in a browser, and it works with a pairing code.
- Open it as an app or in a browser.
- Pair the TV with the pairing code.
If the internet connection drops, the screen keeps showing the last menu; your changes appear once the connection is back. For setup questions, write to us on the contact page.
Menu Board or QR menu?
The two answer different needs. A QR menu opens on the guest's own phone; the board stays on a TV in your venue.
- QR menu: guests browse on their own phone. Ritapos includes a free QR menu, and it opens in up to 40 languages.
- Menu Board: stays on a TV in your venue, where everyone can see it.
A TV works better for guests waiting in line, because not everyone wants to take out a phone and scan a code at the till. A QR code suits guests sitting at a table: they read at their own pace and can look at the product notes if they like. You don't have to choose. Put a TV in the dining area and a QR code on the table.
Who is Menu Board for?
It is useful where items change often or guests need to decide quickly. Cafes, restaurants, bars, beach venues, coffee shops, doner shops and food stands come first. Ritapos has solutions for these businesses: see the cafe POS system and the restaurant POS system, or browse everything on the features page.
What to look for when choosing a menu board
Before you decide, check these points:
- TV: every TV that uses the Android operating system and every Samsung TV, with no minimum version.
- Orientation: landscape or portrait. The length of your menu affects the layout, so choose the orientation first.
- Content: images and video.
- Screens and branches: multiple screens and multiple branches.
- Setup: an app or a browser, plus a pairing code.
- Internet: If the connection drops, the screen keeps showing the last menu; your changes appear once the connection is back.
- Management: with the Ritapos integration, changes to the menu or prices reach the TV live. In standalone mode, it has its own management interface.
- Price: priced separately, based on the number of screens.

How to put together a good menu board
Less information, clearly shown, reads better. Keep these points in mind:
- Group items into categories such as coffee, desserts and cold drinks, so guests find what they want quickly.
- Choose large, bold text with enough contrast against the background. Guests read it from a few metres away.
- Align the prices and write them in the same format. A tidy list builds trust.
- Use images sparingly, for the items you want to highlight.
- Don't cram in too many items. A crowded layout goes unread.
- When a price or item changes, keep the TV up to date. An outdated price leads to needless arguments with guests.
