5.3. Cost Calculation

On the Recipes page:

Select the actions button on any recipe row to view the recipe details. You can calculate the recipe cost and set that amount as the product cost.

In the example, the table shows the quantity of every raw material used in the "Spicy Buffalo Wings" recipe, each unit cost, and the total cost within the recipe. The planner has also entered unforeseen risks as an additional cost. Select "Calculate recipe cost" to calculate the recipe cost according to these settings.

Recipe cost and product cost are separate values. To calculate profitability, you need to transfer the recipe cost to the product cost. When the recipe cost differs from the product cost, another button appears below "Calculate recipe cost." Use this button to assign the recipe cost as the product cost.

You can also perform these actions in bulk for all recipes by selecting "Actions" in the upper-right corner of the table.
