5.5. Production Module

You can easily produce one or more prepared items, such as packaged coffee or pizza dough, that are made in your business and can be used as raw materials in a product recipe. These produced items are also stored in the system as raw materials. You can define them in another product's recipe or sub-recipe and track their stock.

A produced raw material can be converted back into its component raw materials according to its production recipe.

For example, suppose we sell a product named "200 g Ethiopian packaged coffee." Our warehouse contains a total of 60 kg of Ethiopian coffee beans in 20 kg boxes and 2,000 coffee bags in packs of 1,000 as raw materials. Because the production module also produces a raw material, first add a raw material named "200 g Ethiopian packaged coffee" to the system. You can easily do this by selecting "+ Quick" on the "Recipes" page in the product list.

Then add a production recipe for the raw material named "200 g Ethiopian packaged coffee" using these raw materials.

Follow the same process used for other recipes when entering a production recipe.

As you may notice, the field in the production recipe form is for a raw material, not a product. This is because a new raw material will be produced from other raw materials. The unit of the raw material to be produced must be pieces.

After completing these steps, you can produce the raw material named "200 g Ethiopian packaged coffee" by selecting "Produce according to production recipe." In the "Produce according to production recipe" form, select the production recipe and then the quantity to produce. The stock of the raw material assigned to the recipe will increase, while the stock of the recipe ingredients will decrease.

You can also reverse production. Raw materials nearing their expiration date that cannot be used as packaged coffee can be converted by selecting "Convert to raw material." In our example, the 200 g of coffee in the "200 g Ethiopian packaged coffee" item can be used to make filter coffee.
