How it is calculated

Share rate = person hours / team total hours. Person share = tip pool x share rate. Pool per hour = tip pool / team total hours. Remaining for others = pool - person share.

If team hours are below person hours, the calc balances on person hours.

How to read the result

Person share is what that worker should receive for the period. Share rate shows their weight in the team. Pool per hour is the tip value of each worked hour.

What goes into team total hours?

Add the hours of everyone who shares the tip pool for that period, including the person you are calculating for.

Do we need this if we split equally?

Equal splits give everyone the same amount and ignore hours. Use this formula when you want hour-based fairness.

What if person hours exceed team hours?

The tool treats team hours as at least person hours so the share never goes above 100 percent.

Does this handle tax or payroll?

No. It only shows the share inside the tip pool. Talk to your advisor for withholdings and payroll.
