What Is VUK 507 and the Secure Mobile Payment System (GMOEBYS)?
VUK 507 sets the framework for the Secure Mobile Payment and Electronic Document Management System (GMOEBYS). We explain how sales, payments and electronic documents are linked under it.
General Communiqué No. 507 under Turkey's Tax Procedure Law (Vergi Usul Kanunu, VUK 507) regulates the setup known as the "Secure Mobile Payment and Electronic Document Management System" (GMOEBYS, after its Turkish initials).
Purpose: To let businesses carry out their sales, payment and collection processes securely in digital form, and to issue and store their fiscal documents electronically.
The communiqué aims to make the financial transactions of businesses, especially in retail and services, more transparent and traceable.
The system covers a wide range of taxpayers, from those whose commercial income is assessed under the simplified method to those who keep their books on a balance-sheet basis. Businesses are required to create and keep digital records of the documents for transactions made through the system.
VUK 507 speeds up the digital transformation of businesses while also making tax audits and compliance easier. For more information, you can consult the official sources or get support from qualified experts.
